DC electric drives EPU5 (single-phase exciters)

 

Single-phase thyristor exiters of the EPU5 series (DC electric drives EPU5) are designed for excitation current control in DC electric drives with single- and double-zoned speed control and in electric machines. They are used in machine-building, metallurgy, building, printing and other industries.

Single-phase thyristor exiters EPU5 are recommended for replacing converters BОТ, BТО, PNТ, EPU2, EPU4 and are characterized by more progressive technical, constructive and technological solutions, and lower cost.

Exciters EPU5 ... В and EPU5 ... Ф are produced in non-reversible modification.

Exciters EPU5 ... В are designed for excitation current control in single-zoned DC electric drives and electric machines.

Exciters EPU5 ... Ф are designed for excitation current control in double-zoned DC electric drives and electric machines.

Note: In modifications for nominal current 5 and 10 A the input unit is inbuilt in the control unit. In EPU5 modifications for 25 and 40 A the input unit is produced as a separate construction.

Nominal operating mode - continuous. Operation in short-duty and intermittent duty modes is permissible.

Frequency bandpass, Hz - up to 15.

Operation factor of electric drive current from 0,75 to 0,85 (depending on the electric drive type).

Protection degree of EPU5 is IP00 according to GOST 14254-80.

Exciters EPU5...В , Ф are electronically protected from neutral conductor break.

Note: Protection of input power circuits and input control circuits is performed by fuses.
