Control cabinet for arc steel-melting furnace (DSP) of SHRD9201 and SHRD9202 (ARDMT2) types on the EPV basis

Control cabinets ShRD9201 and ShRD9202 (a consistent variant of automatic controller ARDMT-2) are local automation equipment for electric mode of arc steel-melting furnace with electromechanical drive of electrode transitions by DC and AC electric drive at a speed up to 5 m/min.

Control cabinets SHRD9201 and SHRD9202 may be used both at new furnaces and for replacement outdated and inefficient controllers at the functional furnaces with replacement the DC motor for a cheap and service-free one (asynchronous motor). If the electric drives of electrode transitions are in satisfactory condition the reengineering is performed without their replacement.

High stability of the furnaces operation, especially in the fusion period, cuts the fusion time 10%, specific power consumption is reduced 10-15%, carburizing of metal in the periods of finishing and refining is excluded, durability of the furnace crown refractory is increased. In addition furnaces overhaul life is increased, the quality of the found steel is improved and emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere are decreased.

Control cabinets SHRD enable successful updating of furnaces with capacity up to 100 ton, both with rack and hanger electrode suspension, replacing any types of old electric machine and magneto-electric controllers.

Long experience of production and running of three generations of the SHRD controllers (the old designation was ARDMT-2) proved their high reliability and efficiency.

The control cabinets are produced on the basis of thyristor DC electric drives, with closed voltage and control range 1:20. Arc current may be set within 5-110% of the nominal value and the dead zone within 1-10% with setting increment of both parameters 1%. The parameter setting may be remote by a localized programming unit or a master control.

When the electrode angle is lowered the control cabinetss curve is proportional to deviation rate, which exceeds the dead zone.

When the electrode angle is increased the cabinets curve is proportionally relay. The transition to the relay mode (to the maximum transition speed) is performed when adjustable deviation is between 5 and 50% from the preset one with time delay inversely proportional to deviation value.

The control cabinet is equipped with a thyristor converter, which can replace any of three converters, and spare blocks for control cartridge in spare parts..

When selecting a control cabinet it should be taken into consideration that it is meant for electric mode control of the arc steel-melting furnace with a furnace transformer equipped with one three-phase tap changing device with up to 23 steps, data on the step number in positional decimal code, with current transformers, mounted to the low-voltage side of the furnace transformer with rated secondary current 5A and arc phase-to-phase voltage in the range of 110-450 V, DC current, frequency 50 or 60 Hz.

Resistance inserted by the controllers into transformers secondary wiring is no greater than 0,2 O.

The control cabinets may be connected to AC networks with voltage 380, 400, 415 V (frequency 50 Hz) and 380, 400, 415 and 440 V (frequency 60 Hz), and mains voltage variations are permissible in the range of -15 - +10 from the nominal value.

The control cabinets are produced in three modifications different in voltage of connecting electric drives of electrode transition with excitation voltage 110, 220 V and armature voltage 110, 220, 440 V:

The control cabinet is intended both for new furnaces and for replacement outdated and inefficient controllers at the functional furnaces without motor replacement.
