Smoke exhaust ductwork control cabinets

Smoke exhaust ductwork control cabinet (ShUTDU) (exhauster and blower) is designed to provide power supply and control the operation of the exhauster and the boiler fan unit in the district boiler houses in large cities and smaller communities.

Modern and reliable VFD is used in design of control cabinet, it is provide high energy savings in compare with trivial pressure control applied to the combustion air and stack in the boiler furnace by gates and valves, installed in the boiler air and gas ducts. It also provides the necessary protection of the fan motor, and its long-term trouble-free operation, and therefore reliable operation of the boiler unit.

Control cabinet TDU modifications

ShUTDU manufactured in basic and advanced modification.

Basic modification ShU TDU includes the necessary functionality and protections required to the Customer to operate with smoke exhausters and fans.

Advanced modification ShU TDU provides additional options that allow adapt ShU TDU to specific individual requirements. Options combination is determined by placing an order in accordance with the checklists.

Basic ShU TDU is manufactured with IP54 protection. Installation location - heated building.
Basic ShU TDU provides the following modes of operation:
- mode "EPV operating" (the main mode, operating with VFD.) This mode provides speed control from EPV. The maintenance of the required parameter (pressure / stack effect) is provided by specifying a certain motor speed using setpoint (adjusting resistor) while operating in this mode.
- mode "Mains" (reserve mode, the work from Mains.) In this mode, the motor is connected directly to the Mains and the regulation of the control parameter (pressure / stack effect) is maintained by gates, regulating valves

Options for basic ShU TDU

The manufacture of ShU TDU may include the following options:
- "Circuit reactor": protects the VFD against high currents fluctuations of Mains, it is usually applied if the transformer substation is near (up to 300 m);
- "The motor inductor": protects the motor windings against overvoltages, it is usually applied if the motor is far from VFD (more than 30m);
- function "Motor selection": the ability to manually switch from primary to backup motor (this option for smoke exhausters and fans with capacity 37 kW and more, i.e. from the ShU TDU (DM / DV) -80).

 

Protections in ShU TDU  

The following protections are realized, if motor is operating by EPV:
- Overcurrent protection;
- Time-current protection;
- Protection against invalid Mains voltage fluctuations;
- Protection against failure of energy release node;
- Protection against control system errors;
- Thermal drive protection;
- Thermal motor protection.

Protection against invalid long overloads and short circuit currents is provided by thermal relays, while operating in exhauster or fan mode (power supplied by Mains).
