Single-phase thyristor units BOT

Single-phase thyristor units BOT (single-phase DC electric drives) are produced instead of electric drives EPU2 and B and intended for manufacturing reversible and non-reversible DC electric drives for different machinery: that of metal-cutting equipment, industrial manipulators, in textile, printing equipment and other machinery.

BOT units are produced in the following functional modifications:

  • operating speed regenerative ()
  • reactance voltage regenerative ()

Protection class - IP00 according to GOST 14254-80.

The units of direct supply from an industrial network of voltage 220, 380 V and frequency 50 Hz are intended for the countrys economy needs, those of voltage 220, 230, 240, 380, 400, 415, 440 V and frequency 50, 60 Hz for export supplies to the countries with moderate and tropical climate. If the voltage of a network is different from the mentioned above, the units are connected through a matching transformer. BOT units survive with voltage fluctuation from +10 to -15% of nominal value.

Note: The control unit can provide the output voltage up to 80% of the mains voltage.

The electric drives provide operating speed control - from 0 to N-nom (Forward or Backward) when changing U-set from 0 to +10 V for the reversible type, and from 0 to N-nom when changing U-set from 0 to +10 V for non-reversible type.

Nominal operating mode of the units is continuous. Operation at short-time duty and intermittent duty is permissible, if the following conditions are fulfilled:

  • maximum rate of armature current cyclic overload within the time of starting, braking and reverse of the motor is no greater than 4 according to the motors characteristics;

  • cyclic duration factor is 15%;

  • within a cycle the RMS current does not exceed the nominal one.

Electric motor use factor (current) is from 0,75 to 0,85 (depending on the motor type).

Nominal capacity of the electric drives with motors of the 4P series and modification 04 is 90% of the capacity of electric drives UXL4.

The units are provided with the following electronic protection:

  • protection from mains voltage failure in the field power source circuit and control circuit by reason of fuse blowing;
  • overcurrent protection;
  • time-current protection (overheat protection of the motor when braking);
  • against motor overspeeding;
  • against open circuit in a speed-voltage generator.

In the reactance voltage regenerative type the protection from motor overspeeding and from open circuit in a speed-voltage generator are missing.
